Les Deux Frères

The Auvergne is famous for its delicious cheeses; Fourme d'Ambert, Bleu D'Auvergne, Cantal, Salers and St. Nectaire. There is a cheese-route that you can follow by car that will bring you along many cheese-producers where you can taste and buy cheese.

Most of the castles in the Auvergne are still inhabited and represent the living historical heritage of the region, artistic as well as architectural.

Most beautiful villages of France

In the department of Puy-de-Dôme you will find 4 of the "most beautiful villages of France", Usson, Montpeyroux, Saint Floret and Saint Saturnin. The Auvergne has 11 in total. If you are driving from Deux Frères in the direction of Issoire you pass Usson. On top of the mountain stands a large statue of Notre Dame d'Usson. A beautiful walk leads you to this statue and its fortress. There you can have a delicious meal at Margot's.

Crafts route

The living heritage “Parc Naturel Régional Livradois-Forez” has been worked by human hands. Along the whole “Route des Métiers” you won't just discover castles, monuments and museums, but also testimonies of professions that use techniques that date down to long gone times. The heirs of these unknown artists, craftsmen and producers of today, bid you a warm welcome. Their knowledge benefits both traditional and contemporary products.
